WEBCAM SKI JUMP

Ever wanted to know what it feels like for a ski jumper before the jump? You get to the ski jump and the look-out tower when you go straight through the Wurmberg-Alm's main entrance. The ski jump, located at Lower Saxony's highest mountain, offers a view only ski jumpers witness. Look through the glass window down into the valley of "the Eagle". The Wurmberg ski jump offers, with the annual ski jumping Conitinental Cup of the FIS World Cup, the biggest winter sports event in northern Germany.

OBSERVATION PLATFORM

After bestriding our lookout tower you are 1001 metres above the sea level. 

You can expect a 360° panoramic view with a vision of up to 100 km. With good weather, the hills of the Thuringian Forest, the Kassel mountains and the Kyfhäuser mountains are visible. 

The Brocken is close enough to touch and you will have a wonderful overview of Schierke and Braunlage as well.

The extraordinary moments and experiences make a visit unforgettable. So do not miss to climb the obseravtion platform.

 

TECHNICAL FACTS

The Wurmberg ski jump and its observation platform can be reached from the main entrance of the Wurmberg-Alm. The ski jump is operated by WSV Braunlage 1862 e.V.. It has been built in 1922 and 1923. The record width 101 metres jumped by the Norwegian Morten Solem on 2nd February 2003. The regional jumpers always reached notable distantnesses and 4 of them attended the famous Four Hills Tournament. The Wurmberg ski jump offers a capacity of 20.000 spectactors. So the biggest ski jump of the Harz Mountains is located directly at the former border of the GDR.
